[Korea] Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (Busan)

a water chamber where the sea water floats right underfoot

* Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (Busan), a mysterious place where wishes come true
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple was founded in 1376 by Naong, the royal envoy of King Gongmin, and is one of the three major Korean temples, and it is famous for its deep meaning of faith in harmony with the sea, dragon, and Gwaneumdaebul. It was destroyed by the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, but was reconstructed in the early 1930s by Ungang of Tongdosa Temple. In 1974, Monk Jeongam became the chief monk of this temple and prayed for the restoration to Gwaneumdoryang, and in his dream, he changed the name of the temple to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple because he saw a white-clad Bodhisattva ascending on a dragon.

Existing buildings include Daeungjeon Hall, Gulbeopdang, Yongwangdang (Yonggungdan), Beomjonggak, and Yosachae. Daeungjeon Hall was reconstructed in the 1970s by the chief monk Jeongam. Gulbeopdang, located next to Daeungjeon Hall, is called Mireukjeon Hall, and since its foundation, it has enshrined the Stone Buddha of the Seated Mireuk since its foundation, and it is called Deuknambul because a person without descendants will get descendants if they pray. In front of Daeungjeon Hall, there is a three-story stone pagoda of Sasa Temple. Originally, there was a 3m-high rock (Mireukbawi Rock) on this site, but as the temple was ruined during the Imjin War and destroyed by the establishment of a coastal guard network during the Korean War, Jeongam collected rocks and repaired damaged rock walls. In addition, there are the largest stone statue in Korea, the 10-meter-high Seawater Gwaneumdaebul, and the Yaksa Buddha, also known as the East Sea Gatbawi Buddha. There are a traffic safety base tower and 108 stairs at the entrance of the temple, and there is a statue of Dharma at the entrance of the stairs, and there is a legend that if you touch the nose and stomach, you will get a man.

* Things to see near Haedong Yonggungsa Temple *
After getting off the parking lot and walking for just two minutes, the Sixty-Gapja Deciduous Statue of Oriental Philosophy is enshrined, and the Traffic Stability Prayer Tower, which wishes for stable operation for all of us, asks for careful driving. The poem of Chunwon Lee Kwang-soo, who praised the scenery, and the famous poem of Na Woong-hwasang, who sang, "Cheongsan lives without a word when he sees me, and Changgong lives without a word when he sees me," make me look back on myself for a while. Passing through Yongmun Seokgul Cave and going down the 108-stone stairs one step by one, the arranged Seokdeung-gun and the wide dark blue sea are admiration and joy itself as if entering the actual dragon palace. To the left, Yaksa Buddha Buddha is enshrined on Baekho Rock, and if you go a little further, you will find Ilchulam Rock, where the sun rises first.
